Collection of your Personal Data When Registering an Account
You will need to enter certain personal data when registering an Account, in order to receive various news, updates, promotions that we offer to our Members.
When you register an Account, you will be asked to provide your:
First name (compulsory);
Last name (compulsory);
Mobile phone number (compulsory);
Email address (optional)
Month and year of your birthday (optional);
Area of Residence (optional);
Company name (for airport staff only – optional);
Expiry date of your Airport Restricted Area Permit (“ARA Permit”) or Crew Member Certificate (“CMC”) (for airport staff only – optional);
ARA Permit or CMC number (for airport staff only – optional).
The personal data that is strictly necessary for us to deliver the Services will be marked with an asterisk (*). If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to complete the registration of an Account and you will not be able to enjoy the Services we provide to the Members.
Additional Personal Data
Depending on the particular Services you use, you may be asked to provide personal data in addition to the data you have already provided when registering the Account.
(A) e-Coupon Redemption
If you wish to obtain e-Coupons at our designated coupon redemption counters, you will be asked to provide the following additional personal data and information:
Your name as stated on your Hong Kong identity card or in your travel document;
Your nationality as stated on your Hong Kong identity card or in your travel document;
The first 4 digits of your Hong Kong identity card or your travel document;
Boarding pass (for travelers only);
Company name (for airport staff only);
Expiry date of your ARA Permit or CMC (for airport staff only);
Sales receipts; and
Credit card(s) used in the relevant transaction.
(B) Car Park Booking
To enable your access to book a temporary space at one of our car parks, you will be asked to provide the following additional personal data:
Credit card number (first 6 digits) or Octopus card number (last 4 digits)
Car License Plate details
Flight information (date of departure and flight number)
Using our Services
You may from time to time provide us with your personal data when you register an Account, place an order for Services via the Account, use our Services as a guest, provide feedback to us (such as via a survey) or participate in our promotion and events.
If you are not a Member, you will be browsing our website or App as a guest. We may still need to collect personal data from you strictly for the purpose of providing the specific service you require, such as your email address and/or mobile phone number. Please note that as a guest you may not be able to use all the Services and features that we offer to Members.
You can place an order with us as a guest or as a Member. Even if you place an order as a guest, you will still be requested to provide certain personal data to us. We will not be able to provide the Services to you if you do not provide the personal data requested.
Services Involving Payments
If the Services you use require payment of money, you will be redirected to a secure third-party website belonging to our payment gateway service provider to complete payment of any purchase. Payment-related personal data (including but not limited to the cardholder’s full name, card number prefix, cardholder’s billing address, card verification value (CVV) and the card expiry date) will be collected by the payment gateway service provider for the purpose of processing payment for your order as well as other incidental purposes. We will not be able to provide the Services to you if you do not provide the data.
Use of Your Personal Data
We, and our contractors who are involved in the provision of Services, will use the personal data you provide to us for the following purposes (and any purposes directly related to these purposes) (collectively, the “Purposes”):
To provide Services to you (including assessing any application for, administration and improvement of such services);
(for e-Coupon redemption): to verify your eligibility to redeem e-Coupons in accordance with the rules of our Cash Coupon Programs;
To analyse trends, usage and traveler behaviour with us (whether on an individualised or aggregated basis) or for the purpose of carrying surveys;
To allow us, and/or the entities to whom we provide your personal data to, carry out direct marketing activities; and
To comply with applicable legal requirements, including but not limited to assisting law enforcement agencies by responding to their request for disclosure of information.
Please also note that:
Subject to, or where otherwise required by law or permitted by law to protect our interests, we will:
only retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the Purposes or to satisfy any applicable statutory obligations;
erase any of your personal data that we have stored as soon as reasonably practicable, if you choose to delete your Account with us; and
procure that data held by a third party if you choose to delete your Account with us.
Collection of Anonymous Data from You
Separately, we may collect certain other data from you on our website(s) or the App:
We automatically collect data relating to your online session, to gather statistical information on our server’s usage and to help us better meet your demands and expectations. Cookies are small information files stored on your hard drive and are automatically accepted by most browsers. It does not allow us to access the rest of your computer or your personal data. We may use analytic technologies at HKIA for anonymous demographics and foot traffic analysis. In addition, we may collect your physical location data through your WiFi enabled mobile device. We use these data to determine customer population and to help us study your activity patterns and preferences in order to improve service experience at HKIA. We may use your location data to provide you with personalised location-based services and content. Where you have consented to receive direct marketing, we may provide you with targeted advertisements, content, features, deals and offers.
Security and Protection of Your Information
We protect the personal data that you provide to us by reasonable physical, electronic and managerial measures. Please be aware that despite our efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security at all times.
To protect your personal data while you are on our website(s) or the App, we will encrypt any personal data you transmit to us via our Website or the App.
Access to Membership Platform via Social Media Sites
We use analytics tools to measure how customers interact with content on our websites and the App. If you log-in to our websites or the App via your social media accounts, we will collect information you have consented to give us via the relevant social media site and link your interaction with us to such information. Where you have consented to direct marketing, we may also engage social media sites to show you advertisements that are customised based on your interaction with us.
We may feature embedded links, “share” buttons or widgets on our websites or the App to enable you to connect to third party sites, including social media sites. These third party sites may set cookies which can identify you as an individual when you are logged in to their services. We do not control these cookies or how these sites collect and handle your personal data. You should read the relevant third-party sites for their privacy policies before submitting any Data to these sites.
Disclosure of Your Personal Information
Your personal data held by us will be kept confidential, with the exception that we may disclose your personal data to the following parties (who may be located, and use your personal data, outside your country of residence):
