  • Respecting and protecting our customers’ privacy and personal data is important to the Airport Authority (“AA”“we” or “us”). This Privacy Policy will help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard your personal data in our interactions with you.
  • Throughout this Privacy Policy, the term "personal data" means any data relating directly or indirectly to you, from which it is practicable for your identity to be directly or indirectly ascertained, and in a form in which access to or processing of the data is practicable.
  • By registering an Account, or providing us with your personal data via other means (including our website(s) or the App), you agree that we will collect, use and store your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
  • We regularly review this Privacy Policy and may from time to time revise it by updating this page. By continuing to use our Services through the website(s) or the App after any amendments to this Privacy Policy, you are agreeing with the terms of this Privacy Policy as revised, so you are advised to visit this page periodically for updates.
  • This Privacy Policy applies to us, our website and the App, but not to any third parties (including any websites maintained by our business partners). Please check and read third parties’ privacy policies before submitting any of your personal data to such third parties (whether via our website(s) or not).
  • Defined terms used in this Privacy Policy shall have the same meanings as the terms defined in the Terms and Conditions of HKIA Membership Account.

  • Collection of your Personal Data When Registering an Account

  • You will need to enter certain personal data when registering an Account, in order to receive various news, updates, promotions that we offer to our Members.
  • We collect, use and store your personal data to ensure we can provide various Services to you and offer you a personal experience of the various services and facilities available at HKIA. We will keep your personal data confidential at all times and only collect, use and store it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  • When you register an Account, you will be asked to provide your:
    1. Title (compulsory);
    2. First name (compulsory);
    3. Last name (compulsory);
    4. Mobile phone number (compulsory);
    5. Email address (optional)
    6. Month and year of your birthday (optional);
    7. Country or region (optional);
    8. Company name (for airport staff only – optional);
    9. Expiry date of your Airport Restricted Area Permit (“ARA Permit”) (for airport staff only – optional);
    10. ARA Permit number (for airport staff only – optional).
    The personal data that is strictly necessary for us to deliver the Services will be marked with an asterisk (*). If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to complete the registration of an Account and you will not be able to enjoy the Services we provide to the Members.

  • Additional Personal Data

  • Depending on the particular Services you use, you may be asked to provide personal data in addition to the data you have already provided when registering the Account.
  • (A) e-Coupon Redemption

  • If you wish to obtain e-Coupons at our designated coupon redemption counters, you will be asked to provide the following additional personal data and information:
    1. Your name as stated on your Hong Kong identity card or in your travel document;
    2. Your nationality as stated on your Hong Kong identity card or in your travel document;
    3. The first 4 digits of your Hong Kong identity card or your travel document;
    4. Boarding pass (for travelers only);
    5. Company name (for airport staff only);
    6. Expiry date of your ARA Permit (for airport staff only);
    7. Sales receipts; and
    8. Credit card(s) used in the relevant transaction.
  • (B) Car Park Booking

  • To enable your access to book a temporary space at one of our car parks, you will be asked to provide the following additional personal data:
    1. Credit card number (first 6 digits) or Octopus card number (last 4 digits)
    2. Car License Plate details
    3. Flight information (date of departure and flight number)
  • Using our Services

  • You may from time to time provide us with your personal data when you register an Account, place an order for Services via the Account, use our Services as a guest, provide feedback to us (such as via a survey) or participate in our promotion and events.
  • If you are not a Member, you will be browsing our website or App as a guest. We may still need to collect personal data from you strictly for the purpose of providing the specific service you require, such as your email address and/or mobile phone number. Please note that as a guest you may not be able to use all the Services and features that we offer to Members.
  • You can place an order with us as a guest or as a Member. Even if you place an order as a guest, you will still be requested to provide certain personal data to us. We will not be able to provide the Services to you if you do not provide the personal data requested.

  • Services Involving Payments

  • If the Services you use require payment of money, you will be redirected to a secure third-party website belonging to our payment gateway service provider to complete payment of any purchase. Payment-related personal data (including but not limited to the cardholder’s full name, card number prefix, cardholder’s billing address, card verification value (CVV) and the card expiry date) will be collected by the payment gateway service provider for the purpose of processing payment for your order as well as other incidental purposes. We will not be able to provide the Services to you if you do not provide the data.

  • Use of Your Personal Data

  • We, and our contractors who are involved in the provision of Services, will use the personal data you provide to us for the following purposes (and any purposes directly related to these purposes) (collectively, the “Purposes”):
    1. To provide Services to you (including assessing any application for, administration and improvement of such services);
    2. (for e-Coupon redemption): to verify your eligibility to redeem e-Coupons in accordance with the rules of our Cash Coupon Programs;
    3. To analyse trends, usage and traveler behaviour with us (whether on an individualised or aggregated basis) or for the purpose of carrying surveys;
    4. To allow us, and/or the entities to whom we provide your personal data to, carry out direct marketing activities; and
    5. To comply with applicable legal requirements, including but not limited to assisting law enforcement agencies by responding to their request for disclosure of information.
  • Please also note that:
    1. We may transfer, use and store your personal data outside of your country of residence for these Purposes and in accordance with this Privacy Policy;
    2. Subject to, or where otherwise required by law or permitted by law to protect our interests, we will:
      1. only retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the Purposes or to satisfy any applicable statutory obligations;
      2. erase any of your personal data that we have stored as soon as reasonably practicable, if you choose to delete your Account with us; and
      3. procure that data held by a third party if you choose to delete your Account with us.
  • You may from time to time provide us with various third parties’ personal data. You agree that you have secured the relevant third party’s consent to provide us with their personal data (to be collected, used and stored in accordance with this Privacy Policy) prior to such provision by you.

  • Collection of Anonymous Data from You

  • Separately, we may collect certain other data from you on our website(s) or the App:
    1. We automatically collect data relating to your online session, to gather statistical information on our server’s usage and to help us better meet your demands and expectations. This may include but is not limited to your mobile device information, including information on (i) the type of device, (ii) type and version of your browser, (iii) type and version of your operating system, (iv) your IP address, and (v) domain name.
    2. We also use functionality that sets a unique identifier to track your use of our website(s) or App across multiple devices so that your sessions are reported on our system as a single user rather than as multiple users.
    3. If you are browsing our website(s) (whether as a guest or as a Member), it (they) may place a cookie on your computer that identifies your computer to us and allows us to personalise your preferences.

      Cookies are small information files stored on your hard drive and are automatically accepted by most browsers. It does not allow us to access the rest of your computer or your personal data. Please change your browser’s settings if you do not wish to accept cookies. Please note that you may not be able to use all features and services offered on our website(s) or App if your browser does not accept cookies.
  • We may use analytic technologies at HKIA for anonymous demographics and foot traffic analysis. In addition, we may collect your physical location data through your WiFi enabled mobile device. We use these data to determine customer population and to help us study your activity patterns and preferences in order to improve service experience at HKIA. We may use your location data to provide you with personalised location-based services and content. Where you have consented to receive direct marketing, we may provide you with targeted advertisements, content, features, deals and offers.

  • Security and Protection of Your Information

  • We protect the personal data that you provide to us by reasonable physical, electronic and managerial measures. Please be aware that despite our efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security at all times.
  • To protect your personal data while you are on our website(s) or the App, we will encrypt any personal data you transmit to us via our Website or the App.

  • Access to Membership Platform via Social Media Sites

  • We use analytics tools to measure how customers interact with content on our websites and the App. If you log-in to our websites or the App via your social media accounts, we will collect information you have consented to give us via the relevant social media site and link your interaction with us to such information. Where you have consented to direct marketing, we may also engage social media sites to show you advertisements that are customised based on your interaction with us.
  • We may feature embedded links, “share” buttons or widgets on our websites or the App to enable you to connect to third party sites, including social media sites. These third party sites may set cookies which can identify you as an individual when you are logged in to their services. We do not control these cookies or how these sites collect and handle your personal data. You should read the relevant third-party sites for their privacy policies before submitting any Data to these sites.
  • Nothing in this Privacy Policy shall limit any of your rights to the extent such rights cannot be limited by law.

  • Disclosure of Your Personal Information

  • Your personal data held by us will be kept confidential, with the exception that we may disclose your personal data to the following parties (who may be located, and use your personal data, outside your country of residence):
    1. Any person or company (including third party agent or sub-contractor) who is acting for, on behalf of or jointly with us, or any of our service providers; in all such cases, disclosure may take place to fulfil any of the Purposes, provided that such third parties to whom your personal data is communicated are subject to confidentiality and privacy obligations that are materially equivalent to those set out in this Privacy Policy;
    2. Any financial institutions, charge or credit card issuing companies, credit information or reference bureaus, or collection agencies where necessary to establish and support the payment of any products and Services being requested by you; and
    3. Any other third party where such disclosure is mandated by statutory or contractual obligations or as required by law or court of law, or where such disclosure is necessary to protect our interests (as permitted by law).
  • Apart from the above, we do not provide your personal data to any other third parties unless your prior expressed consent is obtained. We may transfer anonymous and aggregated data to third parties from time to time, which may include your personal data in an anonymous format and which does not allow the third parties to identify you in any way.

  • Data Security and Retention

  • Subject to any legal and regulatory requirements, the personal data you provide to us will be kept by us in the appropriate form only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the Purposes, after which it will be destroyed.

  • How to Check and Update Your Information

  • You may wish to access, verify or update any of your personal data that we hold. You can do so by:
    1. logging in; or
    2. contacting our General Personal Data Officer (see “Our Contact Details” section below).
  • Children

  • We do not use our website or App to knowingly solicit any personal data or other information from any persons under the age of 18. If you are under 18, by visiting our website or the App you agree that you have informed your parents and guardians about the Privacy Policy prior to such registration or use, and they have approved of such registration or use by you based on the terms of the Privacy Policy.

  • Services Provided by Third Parties

  • Social media features may be hosted by a third party on our website or App. If a feature is provided by a third party, the use of your personal data will be governed by the privacy policy of that third party. Please review these third party privacy policies.
  • We may also provide links to third-party websites or systems on our website or the App. Such third-party websites or systems will have their own privacy policies that are not covered by this Privacy Policy and which you will need to consider and review.
